An artist that I admire is Carmen Castillo. She was born in Chile in 1945, is a history teacher from the Catholic University, worked in the Salvaodr Allende government and was a member of the Mir during the dictatorship.
Apart from this, the reason I know of her and admire her work as an artist are her films, among them documentaries that are among my favorite. She selects moments of her own life and tells stories that are both deeply moving and with profound histrical and social content. Her documentaries have inspired both my thinking and emotions. Furthemore I had the luck of knwoing her personally and she was sweet and generous
Some of her films include "Aún estamos vivos" that inspired me to travel to other Latinamerican countries, "Calle Santa Fe" and "El país de mi Padre". Here I share the link to this last film. It is worhtwhile to watch!
